Yahoo! Answers: Do You Think My Self Esteem Will Soar If I Lose Weight? - Clothing Stores
| Yahoo! Answers: Do You Think My Self Esteem Will Soar If I Lose Weight? i am 24, 5ft 8'' and stand around 187lbs. i stay at home most days, unless i have to go to my business classes at uni. i hate shopping especially going into certain stores cos i feel so intimidated & everything (in particular clothing 'surf' & jewelry shops for young teens). i feel like i can't even go to a cafe alone, i have to be with somebody. i have all these dreams i want to pursue and i really want to take all these classes like dancing, acting/drama, martial arts, horseriding, playing guitar etc. i can't even make eye contact with people especially boys (every boy scares me). im always covered up even in the hottest weather, and i just hate myself for this, which makes me eat MORE. i don't entertain, go to parties, dance (or even sing) in public, nothing. i feel shut out from the world. i figured the only excuse i give myself for not doing any of these things is cos i'm too 'fat'. so i've decided to start my diet on monday. i'll walk 40 minutes daily, and am going on a 'lite 'n' easy' diet plan (it worked wonders for both my parents who were over weight, and now really slim). Im just wondering though, what if after i've lost my ideal amount of weight, that i still feel self concious? do you think i'll have more self esteem? i want to get to at least 147lbs, maybe go down a little more. i will never starve myself, and once i set my mind to something, i always give it 110% :) i am a 14-16 |
