Remember, it's essential to know your fibers. Cotton is made from the fluffy fibers of the cotton plant. Usually, cotton fabrics are preshrunk so there’s little to no possibility of ruining them. Experts believe that you can’t really damage cotton unless you intend to do so but, otherwise, they are tough when it comes to washing. How to wash? | I would disagree about the cotton, though many cotton items are preshrunk, there are just as many as are not, and the bleeding tendency of cotton is quite high. I personally prefer a cloth which has a mix of cotton and other materials which reduce the cotton's tendency to shrink, even if pre shrunk, materials like a little polyester, which though artificial is quite durable and easy to clean, dry, and iron. |
