Are stylish and neat synonymous?

I do not want to speak on behalf of the menfolk but a major problem we have is the inability to really define a style that suits us. I am 6ft 1" tall and would like help on what would really look stylish for me. I am of average built and prefer something between the formal and casual look. Is there a fashion expert that can come to my aid?
