How to deal with the social pressure while changing my style?

Thank author of this post/commentSo I'm changing up my style a bit, and starting to dress how I like, not how others dress. How do I deal with the questions, looks and glances from my friends and family? I'm not dressing inapproapriatly, just creatively (ie combining menswear shirts with skirts). My friends and I have always dressed like everyone else, until now. Any tips on how to deal with my friends and family are appreciated.
