Questions: For managers or people in the workplace: how has office attire change

Thank author of this post/commentI've seen occasional comments from angry executives or managers on this board complaining about how casual (flip flops, etc.) the dress is. I'm still in school and don't have a job, so I don't really know what it's like. I was wondering whether the popularity of casual clothes (casual means jeans, sweatpants, and things like that) has really extended to the workplace. I live in a city that poops on fashion (Seattle) and people wear whatever they want, but I don't know how it is elsewhere. Is this trend everywhere? Is it good or bad?

To my thinking, and from what I have seen, workplace attire definitely seems to be becoming more casual. Especially for those that are not in client facing positions. Sales and Executive positions generally require a slightly more professional look. I don't think one can overdo the professional look. You either look professional or you don't and it's not just about your clothes.

For me it is not that important to be in corporate attire especially if you are just dealing with paper works in the office especially if your work do not require you to face any clients. What is important is that you are dressed neatly and you do not wear any vulgar clothes that might distract some other workers. A casual classy look would do good. Anyway, good day to all.

The office attire has not really changed when you talk about corporate offices. A business attire is still composed of a suit with a tie and long sleeves polo for guys and blazer paired with a skirt or pair of pants and a neat blouse for girls. Leather shoes for both girls and guys is a must as well as a leather bag for the girls. Casual wear is usually accepted in more casual workplaces.

As we all know that change is the most permanent thing in this world. I believe that office attire have really changed into a more neat and presentable one. Although sometimes looks can be so deceiving but people nowadays make the way you dress as the basis of your performance or your work. It is important to have a full package of yourself when you go to work which means the people around you will not just be startle of your work but also be stunned of your attire. I know everyone wants to receive compliments from other people.
